@MrShaneifer actually this song is a tribute to his grandparents who are holocaust survivors.

Not to say it isn’t what you said, because i love that that’s the message you take away from the song. I think that’s the right message to take away from the song. I just wanted to share the origins behind the inspiration as I heard in a interview with Max Bemis

This song is about loving another person.

The scenario of that love being expressed is between two jewish people (Or a non-jewish man/woman, and a jewish man/woman)
And how even though all these people are against them, and how miserable the world is.
They are alive because of eachothers love.
So yes, it involves holocaust, but its not about it.
Its about how strong love is.
